Philip B. Boyle is a Floridian transplanted at an early age from New York state. The second of four siblings, Phil understood pecking order and the dynamic of making things work in a small social group. Influenced in his teen years by comic book collecting, he read thousands of stories brilliantly told by literary masters of the craft and deftly illustrated by people who could tell a story with a single facial expression. Phil parlayed his love of comics into a successful chain of comic book specialty retail stores, Coliseum of Comics, but never left behind the desire to tell his own stories.
Having raised four children through the teenage years and into adulthood, Phil saw what they could do and how capable they could be even at a young age.
Phil has co-written scripts and regularly creates articles for trade magazines.
Phil lives with his wife, Maggie, along with their two dogs, Bjorn Fuzzysides, and Loki, Lord of Mischief.
Sanctified Ground is the first novel in the Banhurst Faction series. The second book, Street Sages, will be published in 2020. The Banurst Faction is currently slated at a six book series.

A city razed by government forces and the only survivors are those who lived beneath the streets, the street gangs. Their numbers devastated by the raid, the Gunners must find a way to survive in the barren waste of the destroyed city under the shadow of government quarantine. The other survivors? Rival gangs who also know the streets as well as the Gunners, only their numbers are greater.
Mason is one of the Gunners and though young, a key player in keeping the Gunners alive for one more day. Survival is only the beginning as the mystery of Mason’s parents and the key roles they may have played in why the city was destroyed unfold. Deeper still is the heritage they left behind.
Sanctified Ground is the land you bleed on, the blocks you bleed for, and the bonds of brother & sisterhood you’d give your life to defend. Local rival gangs or the might of a government gone wrong, it’s all the same when it comes to defending what’s yours.

Coming 2022
Nothing was the same after the bombs dropped on Mid Mytafa, especially who they thought they were. Fleeing the ruins changed little as the Gunners escape to a new town, hopeful to find a more peaceful life. But this new place is more different than expected. The city may be more civilized but the undergang law is more brutal and the remaining Gunners must leave a mark and draw their lines in the streets. Every gang they encounter has the potential to be an enemy or an ally, and they need all the allies they can get.
As the Gunners fight to survive the bloody streets, other factions plot to contain and control them, all in the name of finding the vaunted war room. Even if the Gunners win the war in the streets, there are still factions to contend with and an even larger war looming as the government steps in looking to cull the street population.
